West Nether House
At West Netherhouses, we carried out a phased remodel of a U-shaped property while the clients occupied the other half the house. Besides remodelling the existing property, we also added a new connecting gallery in order to make the property have more of an open living space feel. This had the added effect of using the existing property’s rooms in a more ergonomic way as each room is now being used solely for its function and not as a connecting corridor. The main highlights of the project were;
Removal of interior fabric of all rooms including walls, ceilings and floors in order to fit upgraded insulation together with new services - Electrics, Plumbing and Underfloor heating.
-
Five large stone slap-throughs created and new dressed stone Lintels, Quoins and Cills for new Doors, Windows and Gallery openings.
-
Structural alterations to interior loadbearing walls and roof ties in order to create a larger space for new open plan Kitchen, Bathrooms and Reception Hall.
-
New skylights fitted throughout the property alongside structural changes to purlin roof structure.
-
New energy efficient Windows, Doors and Glazing Screens fitted throughout.
-
Three new bathrooms created and fitted out,
-
New Utility, Storage and Pantry formed and fitted out.
-
Fit out of property including bespoke Wardrobes, Bookcases, Fireplaces, Oak Beams to Gallery, Floors tilled throughout open plan area and Stone detailing to interior signature pieces.
-
Manufacture and fitting of bespoke doors for project.
